Congratulations to all the girls, coaches and parents for a wonderful 2008 season!!!

The Feely Tournament is played each year to honor the memory of George Feely.  George had two daughters who played in the league and he was a huge supporter of fastpitch softball.

The Feel Association was formed to further honor George’s memory by using the tournament proceeds to award scholarships to graduating seniors who have played softball in the league or in High School in San Mateo.  To date the Association has awarded approximately $90,000 in scholarships to deserving seniors.

In addition to the scholarships the Association donated to the league towards various projects, which included the batting cage & improvements to field 2.

This year’s tournament will be held the weekend of June 6,7,& 8 and will be played on all three fields at Chanteloup.  Each year it becomes more imperative that the parents of SMYSA players donate time to help us with the Snack Bar and Barbeque.  This year will be the 20th Annual tournament and to carry on the tradition we find ourselves more and more in need of help.  The league will be asking the parents of the San Mateo players to help but over and above that we ask that anyone who can volunteer a couple of hours contact SMYSA representative Michelle Zalba at mzalba@rcn.com.
