Regretfully, the remainder of the 2020 Spring Season has been cancelled. All Chanteloup fields and the batting cage are closed during this time.

During the current shelter-in-place, please practice Social Distancing, wash hands frequently, and maintain other methods of staying healthy and safe to prevent the spread of the virus.

Hello to our Softball Family,

First of all, we hope this message finds you all well. Softball is such an important part of all our lives, but is very secondary to our current health and community well being. Right now, we are facing an unprecedented situation with COVID-19. While the immediate and long-term impact of this pandemic is still unfolding, we want to reinforce our priority is you, your health and our community as a whole.

The city of San Mateo has closed all athletic fields and practice areas until further notice. This includes organized youth organizations as well as the general public. As such, our SMYSA season is now on hold through May 1st. We have not yet given up hope of continuing part of the season after that time. But to reiterate, there will be NO organized practices or group gatherings for now.

Once the board is able to formulate a plan, we will continue to communicate that to you. Until then, please continue "social distancing," stay safe, and dream of first pitch fastballs down the middle of the plate.

Cheers and Love,

Your SMYSA Board

Hello SMYSA families.

UPDATE: All SMYSA games and practices have currently been suspended.

We have been monitoring the local Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and have decided to suspend all SMYSA league activities until further notice. As information from our local health agencies comes out, that date may be adjusted. We will communicate changes and updates as we hear them. Until then, no SMYSA practices or games will be held. The pitcher and catcher clinics have also been suspended for now. Thank you for your understanding and patience as our priority remains for our player health and community well being.

In the meantime, remember that this virus is spread is through the transmission of respiratory droplets from person to person. So, hand washing, keeping your hands away from your face and staying home when ill continue to be of paramount importance.

Thank you,

Your SMYSA Board
