Junior Umpire Program
In the 10 and Under Division, SMYSA uses Junior Umpires. The Junior Umpire position is a paid position and is a great way for teenagers to earn extra money in a fun and safe environment.

Requirements
1. Must be 13 years of age and up.
2. Boys and Girls are welcome to apply.
3. Current players, alumni, parents and non-SMYSA children welcome.
4. No experience necessary.
5. Commit to working March 1st through mid-May.
6. Attend Mandatory Junior Umpires Meeting in January/February. Please see calendar for dates
Additional Information
- Training, uniforms and any materials will be provided by SMYSA.
- Games are usually on weekday nights and on Saturdays.
- Typically, games are staffed with two Junior Umpires - one behind the plate and one in the field.
All games will have a field supervisor or an SMYSA Board member present to ensure Junior Umpires are treated with respect.
Pay Rate
* $25/game for homeplate umpire
* $20/game for field umpire
* $40/game if solo umpire
